DIY Glass Ball Ornament – FEATHERS!

These feather ornaments will definitely be a conversation piece!  They are so easy to make and offer such a soft element to your tree.

Craft stores carry sorted bags of different colors of feathers, I got mine at JoAnn’s.  You are going to start gluing your feathers at the bottom of your ball, the feather facing downward vertically.  Simply put hot glue going down the spine of your feather, then place onto your ball.  As you work your way up the ball, overlap your feathers so that you get a tapered look.  When you get to the top part of your ornament, use smaller feathers.  Make sure to glue closely to the hanger of your ornament so that you do not see the glass showing through.  Easy!
My Grandma has been decorating her tree with the same ornaments ever since I was a little girl, so you can imagine the ‘vintageness’ of all of her ornaments.   She has one of the prettiest trees I’ve seen and guess what – – she has feathered ornaments on it!!  Yay!  That is where I got this idea.  Your tree will be pretty too, with these on them!
Love all of the possibilities you can do with feathers.  White, hot pink, fluffy feathers, peacock feathers…

Hey, I'm Kami!

Welcome to the blog

Wife to my Jr. High sweetheart, mother to three daughters. I have always loved being social and staying connected with other people who have similar interests to me. I started a blog back in 2010 and have been in the social networking scene since then. I love meeting new people and helping them feel confident, and see their own beauty.
